Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2019
Here’s all that legal stuff about your privacy.
Basically, we respect your privacy as we want ours respected.
By using https://smashingdishes.com, the “Site,” you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. We do not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
“We” are Lunch with Tony, LLC, also known as Smashing Dishes and Tony Caters.
We operate a food catering business in the Silicon Valley area of California. The Site serves as an online presence, to show you Smashing Dishes’ services and menus, lest you wish to hire us to cater your next event.
We also use the Site as a tool to start a conversation with you, but you initiate that.
After reading this Privacy Policy, please email us at info@smashingdishes.com or call us at (408) 263-4366 if you have any questions or concerns about the use or your data..
Information Collection And Use
While using our Site, you may passively or actively provide us with Personal Information.
“Personal Information” in this document means information that personally identifies you, such as an email address, name, or phone number, that can be used to contact or identify you individually.
We collect this Information to
- identify and communicate with you, such as when you’ve asked us a question or requested a quote
- respond to any other requests or inquiries you might have posed
- serve you (hopefully food!)
- and improve our Site and services.
Log Data
Like pretty much everyone else, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site (“Log Data”).
This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.
Honestly, this data lives in a log file on our hosting server at Hostmonster, where we never look at it.
But also like pretty much everyone else, we do use Google Analytics.
Google Analytics collects, monitors, and analyzes this Log Data to help us understand how you use the Site, in the hopes of improving it.
But it does not tell us that Jane Smith with email janesmith@gmail.com visited the Cookout page on July 4, 2019, at 4:22pm Pacific.
Instead, we use it to see trends. Of groups of people.
Yes, Google Analytics allow us even to see the movement of a user as they went through the site. But we don’t know that it’s Jane. Or have her email address or phone number or any other way particularly of contacting her.
Unless she gives it to us. See the Communications section for more on that.
Click here to understand more about how Google Analytics gathers and uses your data. And what control you have over it.
Cookies
Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your device.
Like many sites, we use “cookies” to collect information because of Google Analytics.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. You should be able to find more information in your browser’s Help feature about accepting cookies, disabling cookies, or notification upon receiving a new cookie.
You control cookies. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.
Do Not Track (“DNT”)
We support Do Not Track, which is a preference that you can set in your web browser to tell websites that you don’t want to be tracked.
Enable or disable Do Not Track in the Preferences or Settings pages of your web browser.
Service Providers
We employ third party companies and individuals to help us serve you better, whether directly on our behalf or to perform services related to our business.
These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform specific tasks and are obligated not to disclose or use your information for any other purpose.
An example would be the service we use to send emails to our larger list of contacts. If you have opted in to receive our emails, either by actively opting in (we try to do this!) or not opting out (you may have gotten on our list some other way, such as attending the same conference), then some of your Personal Information is stored with that email service.
Communications
We may use your Personal Information to contact you with emails, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you.
On the Site, this means that you submitted the Contact form.
You may opt out of receiving any or all of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emails we send or by contacting us.
Compliance with Laws
We don’t mess with the law.
We will disclose your Personal Information if required by law or subpoena, or if we believe that doing so is necessary and/or a reasonable request from law enforcement.
We will also do it to protect the security or integrity of our Site and business.
We’d hate to be in that situation, though. So don’t make us.
Security
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Links to Other Sites
On our Site, we link to websites outside of our Site. Which is to say that we don’t operate or control them.
Naturally, then, we assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children
We seriously doubt anyone under the age of 13 is even browsing our Site, given that we’re a catering company.
But we sure do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and you learn that your children have provided us with Personal Information, please email us at info@smashingdishes.com or call us at (408) 263-4366.
If we become aware of any Personal Information of a child under 13 without parental consent, we take steps to remove that information. Because that’s just scary stuff.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy is effective as of August 20, 2019, and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.
We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Site after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided us, or by placing a prominent notice on our website.
Contact Us

The two easiest ways are to email info@smashingdishes.com or call us at (408) 263-4366.
